About UCPAA

Since 1988 (the Great Autism Inflection point), we have seen the incidence of Autism spike from one in 4,000 to one in 100.

Back then, we faced a mysterious, frightening disability with courage and tenacity.

Today, as our children become adults, we face an even greater challenge. Severe financial pressures are jeopardizing funding for day hab, group homes and supported employment.

As governments face unprecedented financial pressures, they also face a sea of constituents all trying to claim their piece of a diminishing entitlement pie.

More than ever, our children need us to speak out to protect their rights.

The Union of Concerned Parents of Adults with Autism is an attempt to focus and guide those advocacy efforts. Only through intelligent and persistent action can we assure that our children will receive the future we expect and they deserve.
